Is Brady Edmunds looking around or just being courteous to a new coach? Either way, the four-star quarterback's visit to UCLA will have some people talking.

Edmunds has been committed to Ohio State for well over a year and usually prospects that are committed that early and for this long are such locks to the class that they are often focused on helping build the surrounding class.

Edmunds has generally seemed to follow that trend and his social media is filled with posts that are pumping up the Buckeyes. So what was Edmunds doing in Westwood, and should it concern Ohio State fans?

Probably not.

Brady Edmunds takes low-key visit to UCLA

The Bruins have a new coach, Bob Chesney, and a new staff that's going to come out the gate and go aggressively after top prospects to get them on campus and see what UCLA football will be about under their leadership. So it makes sense for Chesney to invite Edmunds, a top quarterback from nearby Huntington Beach, to campus and try to woo him.

Plus, it makes sense for Edmunds to do this. We all understand the world of college football in 2026. The transfer portal is a real thing, and it makes sense for players and coaches to build relationships that might not help them immediately but could be beneficial down the road. But is Edmunds going to flip from Ohio State to UCLA? I doubt it.

There's also a lack of context here. Did he go alone or with a bunch of his high school teammates? It's not unusual for a top player in a high school program to use his leverage as a target to get his teammates in front of a coaching staff as well.

Most importantly, there's little question that Edmunds has a strong relationship with the Ryan Day and the Buckeyes staff, so any movement that he makes has likely been communicated with the coaches. Right now, there's nothing to see here.
