The way Ohio State and Ryan Day have been able to recruit this offseason has been sensational, to put it lightly. In back-to-back days, the Bucks were able to reel in the commitments of stud offensive lineman Caden Moss and wide receiver Jordan Donahoo, giving the Big Ten powerhouse 17 pledges for the 2027 haul.
Ohio State gets a commitment from a solid receiver in the 2027 recruiting class
With Moss in particular, it's exactly the kind of move the Ohio State faithful was hoping for, with assistant Tyler Bowen working his magic to reel in the 6-5, 320-pounder over a boatload of other offers. Right after he committed to Ohio State too, the new Buckeye pledge didn't hesitate in explaining why he knew playing for Day and Bowen was the right call for him:

Ohio State commit Caden Moss knows the Buckeyes can take his game to the next level
With Moss dropping his, "There's no better place than Ohio State" line for everyone to enjoy, it makes his pledge even better for so many people. This, of course, wasn't easy at all for Day and Bowen, as the Jackson, Miss. product picked up 26 tenders throughout his recruitment, while also taking official visits to LSU, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon and Ohio State.
In the end, the Buckeyes were able to beat out those big-name teams to capture Moss's services. You can't teach size, and Moss has a ton of it. He's been dominant at the high school level and more of the same is expected from him once he makes the move to Columbus. Per the 247Sports rankings, he's the No. 8 offensive tackle in the country, No. 2 player out of Mississippi, and No. 69 prospect overall.
Now that Moss has a seat at the Ohio State table too, there are six offensive line commits for Ohio State, which is superb. Moss is joined by Brody McNeel, Davis Seaman, Jimmy Kalis, Mason Wilt, and Kellen Wymer. Following the Moss and Donahoo news, there's instantly another player on commit watch for Buckeyes fans to monitor too.
5-star DL Markus Fakatou is expected to pick the Buckeyes soon
In this case, we're of course talking about five-star defensive lineman Markus Fakatou, who has sent a commitment date for June 29. As things stand, countless signs are pointing to him picking Ohio State, as several predictions have come in for the Buckeyes to get this done.
It would be an unreal get for Day if he gets the news he's hoping for, as Fakatou is one of the best players in the country regardless of position for the 2027 class. Matter of fact, he's the No. 24 prospect nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 2 defensive lineman.
He's been giving Georgia, Texas, Notre Dame, and Oregon serious looks as well, but it's Ohio State in the driver's seat to win this recruiting battle. Nothing is finalized yet, but from our chair, it would be a bit of a stunner if he doesn't announce for the Buckeyes. We'll find out soon enough if he does.
