Deflating Sherrone Moore quote just made the Ohio State win even better

Sherrone Moore's postgame press conference won't have Michigan fans feeling any better about the Wolverines' loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Sweet, sweet victory. It had been six years to the day since the Ohio State Buckeyes had defeated the Michigan Wolverines. Today, the No. 1 Buckeyes made it happen again.

Afterwards, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was the picture of maturity and grace, despite earning one of the biggest wins of his career. Meanwhile, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore couldn't have looked more frustrated.

In his postgame press conference after the 27-9 loss, Moore's explanation for how he was feeling only rubbed salt in the wound of Wolverine fans and made the Buckeyes' win that much sweeter.

"I mean, it stings; everybody stings. You sting for the seniors, sting for the program. When you're in this 24/7, when you're in this for 365, this hurts, ya know? You work tirelessly to make this be successful, so it's not just about me; it's really about the kids and all the hard work.

"I'll put it on me, always put stuff on me, and self-reflect, self-look at, and see what we need to fix and see what we need to do, but it's gotta be better."

Moore, of course, led the Wolverines to their upset win over the Buckeyes last season, but Ohio State quickly moved on, eventually winning the National Championship.

This year, it was a different story. The undefeated No. 1 Buckeyes stormed into Ann Arbor and defeated the No. 15 Wolverines, squashing any hopes that Michigan was still clinging to for a berth in the College Football Playoffs.

Now, with a 12-0 overall record in their back pockets, Ohio State is set for yet another top berth in the CFP, and the Wolverines, who now have a 9-3 record to their name, are left wanting once again.

Before turning their attention to the Playoffs, the Buckeyes have to take on the Indiana Hoosiers, the only other undefeated team in the nation, in the Big Ten Championship, which is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, Dec. 6, from Indianapolis.

The winner of the conference title game would undeniably earn the No. 1 seed and a bye in the upcoming Playoffs, and the other would likely end up hosting a home game for their first-round matchup.
