It was six long years. 2019 was the last time the Ohio State football team had beaten Michigan, heading into Saturday afternoon. The Game was canceled in 2020 after TTUN decided they had too many players with COVID, even though that was never verified.
The Buckeyes had a horrible start to the game, losing 6-0 early after a bad interception from Julian Sayin. After that, it was all Buckeyes. Despite a Michigan player not getting ejected after he headbutted an official, Ohio State took over and won the game 27-9.
This win solidified an undefeated regular season and a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game. They will be taking on Indiana next week for the conference title. After this crowning achievement, Ryan Day was very happy with his team's performance after ending the four-game losing streak.

Following the game, Ryan Day was interviewed by FOX reporter Jenny Taft. He made sure to let everyone know what this win meant to him after what he had gone through over the last four years.

"Well, I'm just happy for our players. You know, they worked really hard. I'm happy for our coaches. They worked, really, really hard. We had good energy this week. We had confidence coming in. The guys played tough; they played physical. We won the line of scrimmage, and I'm just happy for our guys."
After that, Ryan Day made sure that his team was going to celebrate differently than TTUN did last year.
"We're going to win with humility. I'm just happy for a lot of people right now. Can't name them all, but this means a lot."
Day has to be satisfied with this win after controlling the game pretty much once the second half started. Now, the Buckeyes can focus on repeating as national champions. They have completed one goal that they set out to do. Now, they have to win a Big Ten title and a national championship.
Next week will be a tough game. Indiana is a really good football team. Yet, the Ohio State Buckeyes deserve to celebrate this one. It was a long time coming for them to win this game and finally get the monkey off their back.
