The Game was just as great as everybody hoped it would be... That is, it was just as great as every Ohio State Buckeye fan hoped it would be.
As the Buckeyes stormed to a 27-9 victory over their rivals, the Michigan Wolverines, even some of the most loyal fans to That Team Up North had to throw up their hands a recognize a good butt-whooping when they saw one.
Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and an infamous supporter of the Wolverines, even had to admit that Ohio State earned that win, turning to social media (as per usual) to concede the game to his team's rivals.
"All good things must come to an end," Portnoy wrote on X. "Ohio State kicked our ass. #GoBlue."
Of course, that "good thing" Portnoy was referring to wasn't necessarily Michigan's season, which ended at just 9-3 overall. He was more likely talking about the fact that before this season, the Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day were on a four-game losing streak to the Wolverines.

Throughout every year, especially leading up to The Game, Portnoy has become notorious for trash-talking Ohio State and hyping up the Wolverines, whether it's deserved or not. He is best known for his trolling and not necessarily his actual analytics...

Ryan Day and Ohio State escape rivalry curse
Day, who took over the Ohio State program in 2019 and prior to this season, had only defeated Michigan at the end of his inaugural season with the Buckeyes. The rivalry matchup was cancelled in 2020, and then OSU entered their four-year losing streak.
Needless to say, the 27-9 butt-kicking that Portnoy conceded was a long-awaited victory for the Buckeyes and their head coach.
With the win, Ohio State capped off its perfect regular season, moving to 12-0 overall and 9-0 against Big Ten opponents. The defending National Champions were heading back to the conference championship game and another spot in the College Football Playoffs.
This year's Big Ten Championship was scheduled to kick off on Saturday, Dec. 6, and the No. 1 Buckeyes were set to face the undefeated No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers.
