During the first half of The Game, the Ohio State football team had the worst possible start. They fell down 6-0 after an early Julian Sayin interception. After that moment, the Buckeyes started to dominate the game. Touchdown catches by Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss gave the team a 17-9 first-half lead.

During a drive that resulted in an Ohio State field goal, Jaishawn Barham actually made contact with an official, head-butting him. Here is the clip of him doing that.

Barham was given a personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct, but was allowed to stay in the game. Ohio State fans couldn't believe that he was able to keep playing in this game. A former referee, who is now a rules official for NBC, says that Barham should have been ejected.

Former referee believes Jaishawn Barham should've been ejected against Ohio State

Former NFL referee Terry McAulay believed that Barham should have been ejected on the spot for his infraction, posting that fact on social media.

Considering McAulay has officiated at the highest level of the game, he has pretty good authority on this matter. Barham should have had to hit the showers early and watch the rest of this game from the locker room. Quite frankly, the referees struggled in the first half.

The officials also threw a pass interference penalty on the Buckeyes when the pass was clearly uncatchable. They also called an unsportsmanlike penalty on an Ohio State kickoff return that was not explained. It was a rough half for the referees calling this game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes didn't let that affect them. They were able to take control of the game at the end of the half. The hope is that Barham doesn't make a big play in a game that he should no longer be able to participate in. That would stain this game.
