The Buckeyes are officially back on top. Yes, Ohio State won the National Championship last year, but it had lost The Game to its rivals, the Michigan Wolverines, just a few weeks earlier, so there was still a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Now, for the first time in six years, head coach Ryan Day has led the Ohio State Buckeyes to a win in the rivalry week matchup, and his undefeated team is flying toward the Big Ten Championship game and the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.

As the Buckeyes put the 27-9 beatdown on the Wolverines, one of the biggest highlights wasn't actually of a player; it was of none other than Ohio State mascot Brutus.

Brutus steals the show at The Game

As per tradition, the Ohio State fanbase had spent the week leading up to the rivalry game crossing out any "M" in their life. As it became readily apparent that the Buckeyes were going to win on Saturday, Brutus made sure to do the same.

Snow had finally started to fall, and Brutus crossed out the "M" of Michigan in the end zone, opting to write "Ohio" on the 1-yard line instead.

With a perfectly executed "i" dotting, Brutus capped off the Buckeyes' win over the Wolverines, and immediately, the beloved Ohio State mascot went viral.

With the win, the Buckeyes improved to 12-0 on the season, and dropped the Wolverines out of Playoff contention with a 9-3 overall record, including embarrassing losses to the Oklahoma Sooners and USC Trojans.

Now, Day and No. 1 Ohio State get to turn their attention to the conference title game, where they will face the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers for the first time this season. The winner will undeniably secure the top spot in the Playoffs, but the loser won't be far behind, still earning a berth in the postseason bracket.
