Back in November 2024, 5-star wide receiver Jamier Brown gave the Buckeyes an incredibly early commitment, with the 2027 prospect shutting his recruitment down in favor of Ohio State. Since then, however, no one has stopped pursuing him.
Ohio State football program has one massive piece left to figure out this offseason
Earlier this winter, Brown said that he's fully locked in with Ohio State and he's excited for his future in Columbus. However, nothing is set in stone there. Per Greg Biggins of On3, the elite wide receiver prospect remains an Ohio State pledge, but he is also planning on taking at least two visits to other programs. Obviously, this is not the news Ryan Day was hoping to get from the youngster:

5-star Ohio State commit Jamier Brown has 2 other official visits on his mind
The schools Biggins listed as to who will be getting the OVs was behind a paywall, so we're unfortunately not able to disclose that info here. However, the fact that Brown is still heading elsewhere to see whether or not he made the right decision is a bit concerning.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Brown is ranked five stars and the No. 1 wide receiver in the country. He's also the No. 1 player overall from Ohio, as he's a stud for Wayne High in Dayton. This adds even more pressure for Day and Co. to keep the superstar playmaker in his home state.
When it comes to 5-star receiver commits, nothing has come easy for the Buckeyes in recent years. There was major drama surrounding Jeremiah Smith, who nearly flipped to Miami at the last second. In the 2026 cycle, Chris Henry Jr. was nearly off to Oregon, but Day managed to keep him on board.
What will end up being the case with Brown? That's the $1 million question that a lot of OSU supporters now have on their minds. There's a long way to go until the Early Signing Period next December, but it sure looks like Day is going to have his hands full in keeping Brown on board. His recruitment and visits will be something to monitor closely.
