5-Star Ohio State commit delivers concerning quote on his other visits

This sure isn't ideal for Ryan Day.

When the Ohio State football team was able to land the commitment of 5-star wideout Jamier Brown in November, fans were fired up and understandably so. He may be a 2027 prospect, but people can't wait for Brown to make his way to campus.

However, other programs are putting in serious work to flip him. Brown has taken multiple unofficial visits this spring and more trips are going to be coming for him later this year. While Brown told On3 that he's 'locked in' with the Buckeyes, he sure has people talking after saying he's going to keep on taking visits to enjoy his recruitment:

5-star Ohio State commit Jamier Brown will keep taking other visits

Hey, we don't blame Brown at all for taking some trips and figuring out whether or not Ohio State is 100 percent the right choice for him. However, what's the point of being 'committed' if he's going to keep entertaining other programs?

Unfortunately, this is the new age of college sports we live in. Ryan Day and his coaching staff recently went through this with Chris Henry Jr. for the 2026 class as well. Henry, a super early pledge to OSU, took a ton of other trips and he had a full official visit schedule on the way.

However, he decided to fully shut down his recruitment, cancel the other visits he had planned and give his full pledge for Day and Brian Hartline. Henry is one of the most dynamic playmakers for the '26 group, so knowing he's for sure Columbus-bound is a relief.

Will the same end up being the case for Brown? He's not wavering in his decision, but a lot of Ohio State fans can't help but feel a bit worried knowing that he's continuing to shop around a bit, with Notre Dame clearly turning his head. Until Brown puts the pen to paper with the Buckeyes, his recruitment is going to be something people are going to be following pretty darn closely.
