Where have we seen this before? This recruiting cycle, 5-star commit Chris Henry Jr. had plenty of Ohio State football fans nervous, as he was taking trips to meet with other coaches and had several official visits lined up.

Thankfully, he shut down his recruitment and he's fully locked in with the Buckeyes. However, there's another 5-star wideout for the Ohio State faithful to now worry about. That'd be 2027 prospect Jamier Brown, a very early pledge to suit up for Ryan Day. Just like Henry, Brown has decided to take other visits as a junior. Last week, he quietly went to South Bend to meet with Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman:

5-star Ohio State commit Jamier Brown recently took a visit to Notre Dame

Brown is already considered an elite talent, as he's ranked five stars, the No. 1 wide receiver in the country and No. 3 prospect overall for the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to the Buckeyes on Nov. 23, which is still something people are celebrating.

He chose OSU over additional rides from Auburn, Cincinnati, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and many others. With him being such an early pledge - not being able to sign with Ohio State until December of 2026 - it's no surprise that other teams are still actively recruiting him.

It's just that Ohio State and its fans went through this song and dance with Henry recently. He too was an early pledge and continued getting a ton of recruiting attention, leading to plenty of people being nervous he'd flip his verbal, potentially to Oregon.

Moving forward, this is going to be something OSU supporters are going to have to monitor. Remember the good old days when a prospect would commit somewhere and then you'd never hear about him connecting/visiting with other programs? It's 2025 out there and we've now got to keep getting used to commits entertaining other schools, with Brown being included.
