Jaxon Smith-Njigba can improve his standing on this list with another big year for the Ohio State football team in 2022.

If you have the single greatest receiving season in Ohio State football history, you have to be somewhere on this list. That’s exactly what Jaxon Smith-Njigba had for the Buckeyes in 2021. He was the best receiver they had, and that was with him playing with two first-round picks next to him.

JSN had 95 catches for 1,606 yards last season, both are a school record for a single season. He also had 12 touchdown catches too. He also owns the school record for most receptions in a game, TWICE, with 15 catches against Utah in the Rose Bowl and against Nebraska last year as well.

In that Rose Bowl, Smith-Njigba obliterated the school record for most receiving yards in a game as well. He had 347 in that game. He crushed Terry Glenn’s record of 253. While I understand teams throw the ball around a lot more now, that’s still insane.

Smith-Njigba still has a chance to rise up this list. He is the best receiver in the country heading into this year and should put up some monster numbers in 2022. Even though teams will key on him all year, he’s too good to be stopped.

JSN needs just 1,235 yards to surpass Michael Jenkins for the career leader in receiving yards. What’s even crazier is he would break that record in basically two years because he only had 49 yards in his freshman season in 2020. He should easily get to that mark based on what we saw last season.

The next guy on this list was his teammate for the last couple of seasons.
