Despite the UNLV defense not really being a great test for Ohio State, the offense still looked incredible, especially in the passing game. JT Barrett left the game with 3 minutes remaining in the first half after completing 12 of 17 passes for 209 yards and 5 touchdowns.
This outstanding offensive display is huge for the Ohio State offense, no matter the opponent. Ohio State does not play another very good team until October 28, when Penn State comes to town.
In the weeks leading up to that game, the Buckeye offense needs to put up big numbers and gain as much confidence as possible. If Ohio State doesn’t enter that Penn State game with as much confidence as possible, the Buckeyes are going to be in trouble.
