One more game to go and one more win to go. That's the mindset Ohio State Buckeyes leader and standout quarterback Will Howard has leading up to Monday night. The Buckeyes have been on an improbable run in the College Football Playoff, with the National Championship Game here.

Howard has helped the Buckeyes take down Tennessee, Oregon and Texas to get to this point. What do all the Howard haters have to say now? Nothing. You already know that the veteran signal-caller is locked in and focused for the biggest game of his life.

That doesn't mean he can't sit back and take a few moments to appreciate what he's had to do to get to this point. At the same time, Howard is also taking time to reflect on what his Ohio State/college career has meant to him. He's loved this ride - representing OSU has been a dream come true for him:

Will Howard is ready to power Ohio State to a national title

"Looking back to a year ago, coming to Ohio was really the best decision I've ever made in my life," Howard said. "I mean, I've gotten closer to the lord, I've met some of my closest friends here, I met my girlfriend here. There's been a million different things I can speak to, but obviously we're sitting here in the National Championship. I'm just blessed, man, I really am."

Anyone else get a little emotional seeing Howard speak like that? He spent the previous four seasons with Kansas State, but entered the transfer portal last offseason to find a school to close out his college career with.

When Ohio State comes calling, you pick up the phone. Head coach Ryan Day sold Howard on a dream of putting up video game-type numbers and helping this team push for a natty. That's exactly what is on the table for Howard and his teammates.

Remember when plenty of analysts claimed Tennessee would take down Ohio State in the first round? Then, even more people claimed the Buckeyes wouldn't have a chance at taking down No. 1 Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Time and time again, Howard and Ohio State silenced everyone doubting the squad. It's been a special season for Howard with this team and fans will always have a ton of love for him. His popularity will grow even more if he gets the job done vs. Notre Dame.
