The Ohio State football team has an interesting recent history with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Buckeyes have played them in each of the last two seasons. Ohio State beat Notre Dame in the Shoe in 2022 by a score of 21-10 before beating Notre Dame in South Bend last season on a last-second touchdown thanks to Chip Trayanum.

After that game, we all remember what happened. Ryan Day had his famous Lou Holtz quote, calling out the former Notre Dame coach for calling his team soft. After Ohio State won that game, it seemed like the feud was over. Day even mentioned this week that he hasn't heard from Holtz since then.

Things have now changed ahead of the Ohio State Buckeyes taking on the Irish for a national championship. Holtz has decided to ratchet things up in the days leading up to the game, calling out Day once again on social media for what looks like no reason.

Quoting a Pat McAfee tweet, Holtz decided to go in on Day out of nowhere.

Following sending this out on X, he went on to follow it up with a prediction: Notre Dame wins the game by three. That's not an outrageous prediction, but Holtz needs to give this feud up. He's an 88-year-old man who actually used to coach at Ohio State.

Holtz is clearly a superfan of the Irish, but he needs to leave Day alone. He certainly doesn't need to give the Buckeyes any more motivation to win this game. They are already in the midst of one of the greatest runs in program history.

It seems that Holtz will actually be in the stadium on Monday to watch this game. Buckeye fans are hoping he leaves that game just as sad as every other Notre Dame fan.
