The Ohio State football program is gearing up for visit season. Last weekend was the first weekend of official visits for the summer, and it went well. Coming off that weekend, the Ohio State Buckeyes have to feel good about what lies ahead for the summer.
This weekend, the Buckeyes will be hosting twice the number of recruits. Nine recruits will be on campus, although three of them have already committed to other programs. In addition, three of the recruits have already pledged to sign with Ohio State on Signing Day.
That leaves three prospects who are uncommitted for this visit. The Buckeyes are going to try to sway all three of them to commit after this weekend. Here is what you need to know about all three of the uncommitted recruits coming to Columbus.
1. RB Jayden Miles
Jayden Miles is a four-star running back from Baton Rouge. He is someone that Ohio State would like to add in case they don't land David Gabriel Georges, although that looks like it's almost a certainty. Still, they need a backup running back to bring in just in case.
Miles is really choosing between Ohio State and Florida State at this point in his recruitment. He visited the Seminoles last weekend, and this is the only other official visit he has scheduled. If things go well, Ohio State could lock up his commitment by Sunday.
2. CB Jaden Carey
Jaden Carey is a four-star cornerback recruit from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida. The Buckeyes get a lot of recruits from that high school, so that gives them a bit of an advantage. At this point, Carey is choosing between the Buckeyes and Miami.
Carey is predicted to pick Ohio State, so this is a big visit. Ohio State doesn't have a corner recruit in the 2027 class yet, so they need to pick one up quickly. Carey would be a solid one to bring in. Tim Walton has proven that he can recruit, so adding Carey would be a solid addition.
3. DE Justin Weeks
The least talked about recruit heading into this weekend is Justin Weeks. Weeks is a four-star edge recruit from Georgia. He is between Ohio State and Kentucky at this point in his recruitment, and he will be visiting Lexington in a couple of weeks. The Buckeyes get the first crack at him.
Ohio State already has landed DJ Jacobs as an edge recruit, so bringing in a second edge recruit would be nice. Of course, the Buckeyes have quite a few irons in the fire along the defensive line. Larry Johnson is doing a good job getting on the recruiting trail for the 2027 class.
If the Buckeyes can add any of these recruits after this weekend, it would be a successful weekend. It would be nice if the three Ohio State commits could sway these three uncommitted prospects into wanting to be in Columbus next season. This is when recruiting really starts to ramp up.
