The Ohio State football program has done a good job of adding players from the Transfer Portalj in the past week. After a slow start, the Buckeyes were able to address several needs ahead of what will be a long offseason. Getting a kicker, a couple of receivers, and several defensive backs was key for them.
Most programs are finished having players entering the portal now. Now, it's time for the Buckeyes to survey the portal and see which players are left. Most of the spots they needed to fill are taken care of, but the Ohio State Buckeyes still have one big player they should be targeting.
Tackle Jordan Seaton from Colorado entered the Transfer Portal and instantly became one of the best portal players available. He has already taken a few visits with other teams. Ryan Day and his staff should try everything they can to get him on campus for a visit, as well.
The Ohio State football program should pursue Jordan Seaton
So far, the Buckeyes haven't made any attempt to bring Seaton in for a visit. The Buckeyes also have four of their starting offensive linemen returning, with only Tegra Tshabola gone. He decided to commit to Kentucky and play for the Wildcats. Adding Seaton would give them an elite offensive line.
Bringing Seaton in would put him at left tackle and allow Siereveld to either move to right guard or move to right tackle. Carson Hinzman would stay at center, and Luke Montgomery would stick at left guard. Philip Daniels would stay on the right side, as well.
Having that as Ohio State's offensive line would make them one of the favorites to win the Big Ten next season, regardless of what Indiana does on Monday. The offensive line was the biggest reason why Ohio State lost the last two games of the season.
Even though Seaton's asking price for NIL is likely very high, the Buckeyes should still try to match it. That would make their portal class an excellent class and one of the best ones that Day has ever brought in.
