Tennessee RB takes insane shot at Ohio State while recruiting David Gabriel Georges

Quite frankly, this is an insane way to pitch the Vols over the Buckeyes.

With the Ohio State football program losing out on Monshun Sales, they are in need of a recruiting win. Losing out on the five-star receiver was certainly not an ideal scenario to unfold. Had they landed him, the Buckeyes would have had two of the best receivers in the 2027 recruiting class.

Sales decided on Indiana, and now the Ohio State Buckeyes have fully turned their attention to another five-star recruit. David Gabriel Georges has been the recruit that they have spent the most time on in this cycle, and that hasn't changed. He will be announcing his choice early next week.

Tennessee is the other program that is trying to land Gabriel Georges. They are trying to do whatever it takes to land him. They have offered a massive amount of NIL money to him, but one running back on the current roster is trying to use an insane statement to recruit him to the Vols.

DeSean Bishop uses bizarre statement to recruit Ohio State negatively

Volunteers running back DeSean Bishop is trying what he can to get Gabriel Georges to commit to Tennessee. He claims that Tennessee has a longer history of NFL backs than anyone in the SEC does.

"We have a long history of elite running backs. You go into that running back room we have; I don't think anybody can touch it in the SEC. But shout out to him."

Of course, he was certainly thinking of the Buckeyes when he made that statement, too. No one else in the SEC has a realistic chance to land him. Ole Miss is technically the other school on his final list. However, they don't have a chance to be the school that he picks.

It's strange for Bishop to talk up the running back room to a recruit who would take his job next year. Gabriel Georges would make it so that Bishop is relegated to the bench. Also, Ohio State has running backs like Archie Griffin, Eddie George, and Ezekiel Elliott, just to name a few. No one has better backs.

Ohio State feels great about their chances to land David Gabriel Georges

Despite what Bishop says, the Buckeyes feel great about their chances to land him in a few days' time. The Buckeyes feel that the entire collection that they can offer Gabriel Georges will allow them to prevail victoriously in what has become a very tight recruiting battle.

This wouldn't be the first win Ohio State has had over the Vols in recent years. Of course, the Buckeyes smashed Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff in the Shoe back in 2024. That helped jumpstart the Buckeyes to win the national championship.

Gabriel Georges has been very tight-lipped about where he is leaning. He shut down anything that his uncle said, and no one truly knows what he's thinking. Still, Ohio State feels extremely confident that it will end up being able to land him as a recruit, which would give them an elite running back in the 2027 class.
