Over the last 18 months, the Ohio State football program has spent a lot of time and resources on the recruitment of David Gabriel Georges. He is the second-best running back recruit in the country, and someone the Buckeyes have a lot of faith in. They really like what he can bring to the table.

It's easy to see that when watching his tape. Gabriel Georges has a unique combination of speed and power in his running. Not just that, but he has great vision to hit the right holes. He's patient enough to wait for cutback lanes to develop, as well. That's what makes him so special.

His recruitment has seemingly come down to the Ohio State Buckeyes and Tennessee, although Ole Miss is technically a finalist, as well. Insiders from the Rivals team gave an update on where things stand, and it seems that no one knows exactly what he is thinking at this time.

Insiders split on whether Ohio State will land David Gabriel Georges

Recently, the Insiders on Rivals gave their predictions on where Gabriel Georgers will ultimately land. Nine insiders gave their predictions. Six of them predicted that the Buckeyes would ultimately end up with the five-star running back. Three of them picked the Vols.

It's good news that the majority of them are picking the Ohio State football program to bring him in, but it doesn't seem that anything is settled. Buckeye fans would feel a lot better if all of the insiders picked Ohio State to bring him in. It's clear his high NIL price tag is a concern.

Gabriel Georges is the recruit whom the coaching staff has spent the most time on. It's clear that Ryan Day and his staff think he is a generational talent at the running back position. If that's the case, then whatever it takes to land him will be well worth it for the offense.

David Gabriel Georges would make Ohio State's offense deadly

If the Buckeyes do end up signing him, he would make a big difference in their offense. Not only would he be a great running back, but he would open up the passing game even more because of his greatness. He would get instant playing time as a freshman, too.

Gabriel Georges would help a young quarterback in Tavien St. Clair, who is likely going to be the starter next year. While Julian Sayin could stay next season, he will likely have a first-round grade on him if he has another great season, as he did last year.

Day has accumulated a lot of talent already in the 2027 recruiting class. He will continue to do so until December, when Signing Day arrives. When the cycle is over, there is a chance he has a top-five class. Lately, the recruiting trail has treated the Buckeyes right.

Ohio State will be starting practice soon. That is when it will get real that the college football season is right around the corner. Right now, it's just the heat of summer.
