The Ohio State football team is bracing for a rash of transfer portal entries. With the Spring window open, players from all over the country are flocking to the portal to try and find better spots. The Buckeyes are no exception. They've already had a couple of guys put their names in.

Dallan Hayden put his name in the portal and let the coaches know he was going to do so a couple of weeks ago. It was surprising for him to do that, but it was disappointing. Cedrick Hawkins, a freshman cornerback also decided to put his name into the portal as well.

There are other Buckeyes who will follow them. There are three guys who seem to be the best candidates to enter the portal and look for somewhere else to go. All of these guys could be impactful players on other teams, just not with the Buckeyes.

The first player is one of the quarterbacks in a very crowded room.

1. Lincoln Kienholz

The Buckeyes have five quarterbacks in the room who have scholarships right now. For any team, that's a lot. Only one quarterback gets to play at a time and the battle for the starting job seems to be between Will Howard and Devin Brown. Howard still has the edge.

No one was a bigger loser coming out of the Spring Game than Lincoln Kienholz. He threw two interceptions and looked lost in an offense he should have some familiarity with. It was an alarming performance. With two freshmen who are younger and more talented than him, it may make sense for him to go.

Kienholz seemed to refute any rumors of him leaving last week, but I think he should take a look at it. If he wants any chance to start and lead a program, he needs to enter the portal. The Buckeyes have too much talent in the room for him to jump everyone on the depth chart.

I think Kienholz is the worst quarterback the Ohio State football program has right now. He's not in a position to change that in the next two years. By that point, he'll be a junior. He needs to find somewhere else as a fresh start where he can actually compete for a starting spot.

The next player on this list is also a player who is caught in a really talented and crowded room.
