The Ohio State football team had a great day for their Spring Game. It was a beautiful day for some football. The only bit of weather that the Buckeyes had to contend with was the wind. The Buckeyes had some issues throwing into the wind at times.

Other than that, it was a picture-perfect day. There were some winners and losers in this exhibition. Some guys really stood out and made a strong impression on the coaching staff. Some others couldn't step up in the moment and played some bad football.

First, we'll start with a winner. The defense as a whole was a winner and this member of the secondary locked down some wide receivers down.

1. Davison Igbinosun

One of the starting corners from a year ago looks better than ever. Davison Igbinosun was really impressive in this Spring Game. He locked down Carnell Tate on a couple of passes that could have led to touchdowns. He was physical and put himself in a position to defend those passes.

The secondary was the strongest part of the Ohio State football team a year ago. It seems that has carried over this season with everyone back. Igbinosun is one of the starters at corner. He is also the most physical of the corners that Ohio State has as well.

Igbinosun isn't quite as good as Denzel Burke, but he's still really darn good. If he has a strong year, he could become a high draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He's a thumper in the running game and can make tackles when running backs get outside. He does the same thing in the passing game too.

I expect Igbinsoun to play well this season. He has a lot of other great players around him on defense who should all come together to be an elite unit. He just had a good start to the 2024 season. Our next winner is also someone who played well in the secondary.
