An Ohio State football player was rumored to be entering the transfer portal once it opens on Monday. He seemed to dispel that rumor on social media.

The transfer portal is a part of college football now. The Ohio State football program did a good job of navigating it in the offseason, grabbing several impact players. Of course, when that happens, other players tend to leave for the portal because they feel like they are being replaced.

One player was recently rumored to be transferring once the portal opens on Monday. That player is quarterback Lincoln Kienholz. Kienholz was a member of the 2023 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit. He was a freshman last year that didn't really play much.

Kienholz's only real action was in the Cotton Bowl once Devin Brown went down with an injury. He didn't play very well while he was in there though. Now there are three new quarterbacks in the room, each of whom seems to be ahead of him on the depth chart.

With rumors swirling that he could potentially be looking at leaving for Iowa, Kienholz seemed to put those rumors at bay. He took to social media with a very simple message to dispel the rumors.

With that simple tweet, it seems to discredit any rumors of him leaving. If I'm being honest though, it might be better for him if he does transfer. The Buckeyes have several talented quarterbacks. Once Will Howard leaves after 2024, they will still have Julian Sayin, Air Noland, and incoming freshman Tavien St. Clair on the roster. Devin Brown could be too.

That's an extremely crowded room for the Ohio State football team. There's no possible way that it can stay like that heading into next season. I'm not sure how the room gets resolved, but we might find out on Monday once the portal opens.

Kienholz seems committed to the Buckeyes for now. Things can still change between now and Monday.
