The Ohio State Buckeyes have risen to the top of a long list of programs that have been after 2027 consensus four-star offensive tackle Jimmy Kalis.

Rivals now has the Buckeyes favored to land Kalis with a whopping 82.% confidence level. For comparison, the next is Penn State at 3.5%, which is even more impressive considering Ohio State is about to pluck Kalis out of Pennsylvania.

Buckeyes move to the top of Jimmy Kalis' list

Kalis' top 6 was already made known in February after he narrowed down a list of 45 reported offers. That exclusive group included OSU, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Clemson and Miami, so Penn State was actually eliminated long ago despite the prediction. He has visits scheduled to LSU this weekend, Georgia on May 29 and Texas on June 5.

His other offers included the likes of Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Washington, Wisconsin and more.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Kalis, listed at a towering 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, is the No. 31 offensive tackle in the 2027 class. He's also the No. 11 prospect in Pennsylvania as the Nittany Lions still haven't landed a top-20 2027 recruit from their own state.

The Buckeyes have put an emphasis on recruiting monsters like Kalis after getting bullied in the trenches in some big-time matchups. Kalis would be the fourth offensive tackle added to OSU's 2027 class, which 247Sports currently ranks fourth in the country.

With nine total commits so far, nearly half of the Buckeyes' 2027 group is made up of offensive tackles with four-star Kellen Wymer, and three-stars Mason Wilt and Brody McNeel. Kalis would not only be the biggest of the bunch, but based on the 247Sports Composite, would also be the second-highest rated behind Wymer, who's the No. 4 OT in the class.

This latest prediction is a great sign for the Buckeyes' future offensive front.
