The Ohio State football program is trying to sift through the talent that they have added from both the Transfer Portal and the incoming recruiting class. With Spring ball just a few weeks away, that is the biggest focus that Ryan Day has. He's also working on the 2027 recruiting class.

Ohio State has started out great with the 2027 recruiting class. They have the third-best class in the country, but they are looking to add more. They have the best overall recruit in the country. Yet, Day understands that there are certain positions they must improve.

The offensive line is one of those spots. Poor play up front was the biggest reason why the Buckeyes were not able to beat the Hoosiers or the Hurricanes in back-to-back games. One four-star recruit from the 2027 recruiting class has the Ohio State Buckeyes as one of his final schools.

Ohio State football sits in final six schools of four-star OL recruit

Jimmy Kalis, a four-star tackle recruit from Pittsburgh, has whittled his final school list to six. Ohio State is one of those schools. He also has Georgia, LSU, Texas, Clemson, and Miami has the othe4r schools on his list. All of those schools are premier programs every year.

Kalis is listed at 6'6 and 280 pounds and is very strong. He is someone who won't get pushed down very easily, and he can move the pile in run plays. He is someone that Tyler Bowen would like to add to the trenches. Of course, Bowen still has to out-recruit several schools.

Ohio State is prioritizing being better in the trenches next season. They got bullied up front in both of their losses, so they are trying to fix that mistake. With four of five starters up front returning next season, Ohio State should be better than it was in 2025.
