When it comes to recruiting standout receivers for the 2027 class, Ryan Day and Ohio State are making a serious push to bring in several playmakers. Already, the Buckeyes hold a commitment from speedster Jamier Brown, but could more be on the wa

4-star recruit keeps Ohio State top of mind with new final list

Earlier this week, fans read about Ohio State being a finalist for Monshun Sales. Now, though, there's another elite talent to keep a close eye on. That'd be wideout Easton Royal, who is currently committed to Texas. Despite that, several schools are working to flip him, with Ohio State reportedly in the mix:

Ohio State is reportedly working to flip 5-star WR Easton Royal from Texas

According to 247Sports reporter Mike Roach, the Buckeyes indeed are hoping to turn Royal's head down the road. Of course, the next move for Day will be to get the youngster on campus for an official visit, as other schools are working to make that happen as well.

On Friday, it was reported that Lane Kiffin and LSU will be hosting Royal for an OV in June. Could he also make his way to Columbus as well? That'd of course be key for Day if he wants to pull off this flip that would break countless hearts in Austin.

Thus far for the 2027 class, Ohio State holds verbal pledges from nine players, with the haul ranked No. 3 in the country by 247Sports. Brown is the lone receiver on board, but the position is going to be a top priority for Day and his staff with Jeremiah Smith expected to be off to the NFL after next season.

Smith is without question one of the top players in the country and he has NFL superstar written all over him. Unfortunately, next season will be his last, but the Buckeyes are loading up on young talent to help ease the pain of losing him. For now, Brown is the solo '27 receiver on board, but that's of course going to change. Might Royal decide to play in the Big Ten for Day too? Only time will tell if that happens or not.
