This past weekend was a massive recruiting weekend for the Ohio State football program. Usually, they get multiple commitments from high school recruits during the weekend of the Spring Game. Instead, they just got one. It was four-star offensive line recruit Jimmy Kalis.
Other than that, the Buckeyes weren't able to land anyone else. They missed out on a few recruits who decided to pick different programs instead. Right now, the Buckeyes still have a top-five recruiting class, although they missed out on another recruiting target on Monday.
Four-star recruit Braylon Calais decided to pick LSU over the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also had Miami and Texas A&M on his list. Losing out on him to the Tigers isn't the story. It's what he said in his decision to pick LSU that should have Ohio State fans feeling disrespected.
Recruiting target takes a subtle shot at Ohio State coaching staff
While making his decision, Calais made it clear that he was choosing head coach Lane Kiffin over everyone else.

“Who wouldn’t want to go to LSU with arguably the best coach in college football?”
Telling that to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals is a shot to every other head coach that he was considering. Kiffin has never won anything of consequence as a college football head coach. Meanwhile, Ryan Day has won a national championship and multiple conference titles.
If he wants to play receiver instead of defensive back, LSU is probably the better choice for him than Ohio State. The Buckeyes recruit the best at that position every single year, and they produce first-round picks at receiver every single year. Calais would have had to jump a lot of guys in front of him to see snaps.
Time will tell how Calais will end up playing for the Tigers. An argument can be made that Kiffin won't last an entire four-year recruiting cycle in Baton Rouge. He has a track record of bailing on programs for the best possible job. When he did finally reach the pinnacle at USC, he was fired.
Meanwhile, Day just continues to win games and keeps making College Football Playoff appearances.
