With nine commits on board for his 2027 class, Ohio State and Ryan Day already have a stud quarterback on board, with 4-star signal-caller Brady Edmunds excited for his Big Ten future. However, could Ohio State end up taking two QBs?

That's certainly on the table, as standout quarterback Champ Monds has entered the conversation. A 4-star playmaker from Florida, Monds informed On3's Steve Wiltfong that he's got several visits on the way during spring ball and his list includes travel to Columbus. Come April 4, Monds will be on campus and the Buckeyes will be hoping to turn his head:

As you can see, Ohio State isn't the only school Monds will visit, as he'll also be on his way to Notre Dame, Miami, Florida State and Florida. Monds has picked up more than 30 offers throughout his recruitment, but these schools getting visits sure feels telling.

Per the 247Sports Composite, Monds is ranked four stars, the No. 17 quarterback in the country and the No. 254 player nationally for '27. Yes, he's one of the top quarterbacks out there and he's got plenty of people chasing his commitment.

At the same time, the good news here for Day is that Edmunds is already on board and he's been Ohio State-bound since December 2024. He got his recruitment out of the way early, though some eyebrows were raised when he visited UCLA recently for a Junior Day event with the Bruins.

With the way recruiting goes down, nothing is ever fully done until a prospect makes it official during the Early Signing Period. Edmunds has said he's 100 percent locked in with Ohio State, which is great, but him taking another visit was concerning. Because of that, it's smart for Day and his staff to not shut any doors and keep targeting QBs. That's why Monds will be on his way to Ohio State for a visit soon enough.
