The Ohio State football program has moved on from most of the 2027 recruiting prospects. Their class is pretty much filled, although they might still add a running back. However, most of the recruiting efforts have shifted to the 2028 recruiting class.

It's a class that the Buckeyes have already done a great job of starting. At the moment, they already have three five-star recruits in that class committed. It looks like they might be adding a fourth commit soon, as five-star recruit Braylon Clark has the Buckeyes at the top of his list.

According to Rivals, Braylon Clark still sees the Ohio State Buckeyes as his top choice at the moment. He still thinks that they have been the program that has been recruiting him the best thus far.

If Clark ended up committing to Ohio State, that would give them two five-star receivers in the 2028 class, further proving that their receiver recruiting won't slow down without Brian Hartline. Cortez Hankton seems to be able to land elite talent just the same as Hartline was.

Clark stands at 6'2.5 and 188 pounds. He is listed as the fourth-best receiver in the 2028 class and the 13th-best player overall. The best recruit in the 2028 class is Jett Harrison, who is already committed to the Buckeyes. Adding Clark would bring in a dangerous duo.

What makes Clark so special is his ability to get open by running precise routes and almost always catch the ball. Drops are few and far between with Clark, which is something Ryan Day and his staff look for. The Buckeyes need as much talent as they can get on the outside.

Ohio State continues to recruit the 2028 class well early in the cycle

The Buckeyes are having a much better start to the 2028 class than they did with the 2027 class. As of now, Ohio State has the top-rated class in the country. Of course, it will be up to them to actually sign these players when Signing Day rolls around, which won't be for over a year.

Day has to feel good about how this class is stacking up so far. Ohio State is going to have a chance over the course of the next few weeks to host recruits to some big games in the Shoe, and that could further bolster the 2028 recruiting class. That's something to watch.

Clark has already made multiple visits to Columbus over the last couple of years. Ohio State is trying to get him around some of the other guys they are looking at and showing him up close just how much of a monster Jeremiah Smith is. Smith is the best player in the country.

Smith caught four touchdown passes last season, and he is hoping to have a similar performance on Saturday against Iowa. Another great performance would certainly send Clark a message that Ohio State would be a great place for him to develop his skills.
