Ohio State produces first-round wide receivers like they grow on trees. Over the past five seasons, the Buckeyes have had a receiver drafted in the first round each year. Next season, Jeremiah Smith will become the sixth, and he has a shot to be the number-one overall pick.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of those first-rounders, as he was taken fourth overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 2024. His younger brother, Jett Harrison, is also committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is now rated as the top recruit in the country for the 2028 class.

According to Rivals, Harrison is now the best recruit in the country at any position. He has been a five-star recruit for some time, as well as the top-ranked recruit, but it's good to see him hold onto that rating in the latest ranking. Harrison is from Philadelphia and will be coming to Columbus in a couple of seasons.
Standing at 6'1 and 175 pounds, that's typically not the frame of someone who is the best player in the country. Yet, he is incredibly fast and has excellent hands. He pretty much catches everything in sight. He is incredibly fluid in and out of his routes, as well.
Adding all that together, the Buckeyes have an exciting new toy to join the roster in a couple of years. There are rumors that he could reclassify to the 2027 recruiting class, but those are unfounded as of now. Either way, he will be a Buckeye, and he could be the next great one.
Ohio State has a five-star recruit coming in next year's class, as well. The Buckeyes have Jamier Brown coming in next year, and he has been committed to Ohio State for some time. He will be teammates with Harrison for a while, which will be a nice combination.
Jett Harrison needs someone to throw him the ball
Who will be throwing the ball to Harrison is another matter. During his freshman season, it was thought that Tavien St. Clair would be the starting quarterback. However, he doesn't look very good at the moment. It could be Luke Fahey who throws him passes.
Of course, the Buckeyes do have a five-star quarterback recruit committed for the 2028 class. They have Christopher Vargas locked up in a commitment right now. However, it's highly unlikely that Vargas would start as a true freshman. That has never happened under Ryan Day.
There are still a couple of years to figure out who will be the starting quarterback when Harrison comes to town. Harrison is going to be an elite Buckeye, no matter who ends up throwing him the ball. His brother was like that too, even though he had Kyle McCord as a starter for a year.
As for flip potential, there is almost no chance that Harrison decides to flip his commitment elsewhere. His family loves how his older brother was treated, and Ohio State's track record at receiver is second-to-none. He'll be happy in Columbus.
