The Ohio State football program continues its pursuit of some of the best recruits in the 2027 class. Right now, they have 15 commits for that class. Over the last couple of weeks, the Buckeyes have added a couple of cornerback recruits. That has given them some momentum on the recruiting trail.

One of the recruits they have been investing a lot of time and resources in is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges. Gabriel Georges has narrowed his list down to three schools: Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. It really seems like he's down to the Buckeyes and the Vols.

The Ohio State Buckeyes feel great about their chances of landing him. Gabriel Georges seems to love what they are able to offer him. Now, the Buckeyes have made a chess move to offer his best friend in high school, which is something Tennessee has failed to do.

Ohio State offers a scholarship to Jordan Darren Djila

Ohio State decided to offer Jordan Darren Djila, who is a safety in the 2027 class. He is someone who is very close to Gabriel Georges. More than that, Gabriel Georges was pumped about the offer. He posted on social media a message that seems to indicate that he will be choosing the Buckeyes,

Gabriel Georges seems to indicate that they could be playing in Columbus together next season. While Darren Dijila isn't a great prospect, this is a smart move to offer him. If this entices Gabriel Georges to pick the Buckeyes, it's well worth it to offer a scholarship to him.

This is one of the recruits that Ohio State has pursued the hardest in the Ryan Day era. He has really given a lot of time and effort to get him to commit to the Buckeyes. While they are still waiting on a commitment from him, they are doing the right things to get one.

Ohio State should see an influx of commitments in the next few weeks

Based on the predictions that the Buckeyes have for some of the best recruits in the country, they should see an influx of commitments within the next few weeks. Marcus Fakatou could be one who commits relatively soon. Monshun Sales could make an announcement, as well.

Of course, those predictions only go so far. The Buckeyes need to actually get some commitments from these recruits for it to mean anything. June and July are usually months when they can pick up a handful of prospects on the recruiting trail. They feel great about the class they will assemble when it's all said and done.

Ryan Day liked what he saw from Ohio State's final camp that they hosted this summer. They think that they got some good face time with some prospects, and some of those prospects are now considering the Buckeyes very highly.

Adding Gabriel Georges would give Day yet another offensive weapon to coach for the next three to four years. It would be one of his most intriguing, as well.
