The Ohio State football program seems to have a very specific goal they want to accomplish in the 2027 recruiting class. It seems that they want to beef up the trenches on both sides of the ball. The Buckeyes already have six offensive line recruits in this class after landing Caden Moss.

On the defensive line, Larry Johnson has been putting in a lot of work. He landed five-star defensive end DJ Jacobs very early on in the process. He also has an enormous number of predictions for him to land Marcus Fakatou, another five-star defensive lineman.

Going after a lot of prospects who play up front seems to be Ryan Day's goal. He wants to become tougher, and this is the class he wants to start that trend. Now, the Ohio State Buckeyes have a crystal ball prediction to land another elite defensive lineman.

Ohio State projected to get four-star defensive lineman Karlos May

According to Rivals, the Buckeyes are now going to wind up getting a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Karlos May. May is from Birmingham, Alabama, and stands at 6'2 and 330 pounds. That's a great size to have up front as a defensive tackle. May can plug holes up in the run game, which is what Day is looking for.

May is a solid player who could really help the Buckeyes in a couple of years. It wouldn't be surprising if he saw significant playing time as a sophomore if he picks Ohio State. The other major school fighting for May is Auburn, which is a home-state school for May.

Picking up May would be yet another feather in Johnson's cap. It wouldn't be surprising if they ended up adding another defensive lineman before things are all said and done. Four defensive linemen in one single class is a lot, but Day is clearly trying to build depth up front.

Ohio State is finally building momentum the desperately needed on the recruiting trail

The Buckeyes are finally starting to build some desperately-needed momentum on the recruiting trail. After starting out the cycle very slowly, they are starting to get predictions to land some of the best recruits in the country in this class. Day should be happy with the haul he gets once December rolls around.

Of course, December is still a long time away. Recruits can flip for the slightest reasons, so the Buckeyes still have to stay diligent with the prospects they have committed right now, as well as the ones they are fighting for right now. Recruiting has turned into a 24/7 job for coaches.

With next month seeing the start of fall camp, this month of June was important for recruiting purposes. While the Buckeyes could have done better, they look like they will finish the month strong. On Monday, they are going to find out just how strong.

Ohio State is happy to have the guys they have in its current class. Now, it's about adding the right prospects to help round it out.
