Mater Dei High in California has been good to the Ohio State football team. For the 2026 class alone, the Buckeyes have landed commitments from 5-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and 4-star wideout Kayden Dixon-Wyatt. Will another Mater Dei standout be ready to give Ryan Day his verbal soon too?

That's what plenty of Buckeyes fans think could happen when it comes to 2027 cornerback Danny Lang. He already holds an offer from Day and Co., with Ohio State making an early impact on him. So much in fact, he told reporter Marc Givler that the reigning national champs are his top school:

4-star CB Danny Lang has Ohio State football as his No. 1 school right now

Despite only being a high school junior, Lang is closing in on 30 offers - he's up to 27. His list includes Ohio State, Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Penn State and many others. As you can see, he's wanted by the biggest powerhouses in the country.

According to 247Sports, the 6-1, 165-pounder is ranked four stars, the No. 16 CB in the country, No. 12 player from California and No. 134 prospect nationally for the 2027 class. Ohio State offered Lang in May and it has been showing him a ton of love ever since.

Day and the Buckeyes are still focused on closing out the '26 class in style. Thankfully, Henry provided the staff and fanbase with some great news over the weekend, revealing that while Texas and Oregon continue to contact him, he's locked in with the Buckeyes.

Dixon-Wyatt is also fully committed to Ohio State and no program is going to change his mind. After going 0-for-3 with 5-star prospects last week, positive updates have been needed for OSU recruiting. Henry and Lang have provided that in recent days. With the Buckeyes being the No. 1 school for Lang right now, he's definitely going to be on 'commit watch' this fall. He'd be another huge get for Ohio State and its California efforts.
