The Ohio State football team has reset the roster heading into the 2026 season. They have several players from this past season who are elsewhere. 30+ players decided to head into the Transfer Portal. Of course, they have several players heading into the NFL Draft.
The Buckeyes did the best they could to replenish that roster by using the portal. They did add some quality players, and even added one final player earlier this week. Ryan Day now has his eyes on Spring practice, which will arrive here before you know it.
At the end of Spring practice is always the Spring Game. Last season, the Buckeyes had more of a showcase than a game, although there were some elements of a football game. Now, the Ohio State Buckeyes have decided when the Spring Game will be in 2026.

Ohio State has announced that the Spring Game in 2026 will be played on April 18. That is in about two and a half months, so the Buckeyes have a lot to accomplish between now and then. One thing Day won't have to worry about this year is a Spring Transfer Portal window.
There is just one portal window now, so Day no longer has to worry about players leaving the program after Spring practice concludes. The roster he has right now is the roster he will have until early January of 2027. Now, it's up to the coaches to figure out a way to make that roster come together.
It's unclear what the format of the Spring Game will be this year. Day has a couple of months to decide what will be the right way to handle it. Several teams decided to cancel their Spring Games last season. At least fans will get to see the Buckeyes play this April.
