Ohio State fans should laugh at Michigan receiver trying to defend Bryce Underwood

It's crazy that the receiver even said this about his teammate.

The Ohio State football program seemed to break Bryce Underwood last season. After destroying TTUN 27-9 in Ann Arbor, Underwood seemed broken. He finished that game with just 63 yards passing, which was by far the worst total he put up as a freshman.

Since then, some people have seen what Underwood has done and are not fans. Most recently, Eric Weddle ripped Underwood to shreds. It doesn't seem like he's worth the enormous amount of money that the Wolverines are paying him, at least when it comes to what he did against OSU.

Not everyone is taking shots at Underwood. His teammates have come to his defense. Sophomore receiver Andrew Marsh came to his defense recently. However, what he said should make fans of the Buckeyes laugh continuously for a good five minutes.

Andrew Marsh claims Bryce Underwood is the best quarterback he's played with

While appearing on In the Trenches, Marsh made a very bold claim about Underwood's ability as a quarterback.

"I mean, as a receiver, you can't ask for much more. To be honest, he's probably the best quarterback I've ever played with."

Are you serious? The best quarterback you've ever played with? That same quarterback had only 11 touchdowns and threw nine interceptions last season. He looked lost on the field against the best teams that TTUN played. He threw six interceptions in his final four games.

If that's the best quarterback Marsh has ever played with, then that's an insult to the high school quarterbacks he played with. Marsh only caught four touchdown passes last year. If Underwood were halfway decent, he would have caught at least six or seven of them.

Meanwhile, Julian Sayin thrived in his redshirt freshman season. He was a Heisman Finalist and threw for 3,610 yards and 32 touchdowns. This year, he enters the 2026 season as one of the best returning players in college football. It's clear the standards are different for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Bryce Underwood could get benched before taking on the Ohio State football team

The Buckeyes would love it if Underwood were the quarterback again at the end of November. The Game is in the Shoe this season. Does anyone think that's an environment that Underwood is going to be able to deal with? There's no shot that he plays well enough for TTUN to win that game.

That's why it's not out of the realm of possibility that Underwood gets benched before that game is played. If he puts up a stat line like he did last year, he should get benched. A team like TTUN can't win games with the quarterback playing subpar, especially against the best competition.

Ohio State football fans made sure to clown both Underwood and Marsh plenty last season. After these comments, things are only going to get worse for Marsh. Standing up for his guy is understandable, but he could have chosen a much better set of words.

Instead, Buckeye fans are going to make sure he remembers these comments in late November.
