The Ohio State football team has the best player in the country on their roster in Jeremiah Smith. Smith is the most athletic freak at the wide receiver spot, despite what some other fanbases may think. His ability to warp the defense towards him is something no one else can do.

Smith will be the focal point of the offense for the Buckeyes this season yet again. During spring practice, he made sure to call out that other programs have been trying to tamper with him for the last few years. That's not a surprise with how good he is.

Specifically, Smith called out Miami for trying to contact him this offseason. While he didn't name them, he made it clear that's who he was talking about. When his comments surfaced on social media, fans of the Hurricanes were absolutely furious with him.

Miami fans get mad at Jeremiah Smith for calling them out

Fans were not happy with Smith's comments, even though they were the truth.

It's hilarious to see just how mad Miami fans get that Smith will never play for their team. He clearly made the right choice coming to Ohio State, and fans of the Hurricanes just can't take it. He lives rent-free in their minds at all times, even during the offseason.

The Buckeyes are better equipped for a deep run in the 2026 College Football Playoff than the Hurricanes are, despite Miami playing for a national title last year. Ohio State's offense is more loaded with talent, which is perhaps why Hurricane fans are so mad at Smith.

Ohio State would love to get some revenge on Miami if they were to meet again in the College Football Playoff. Ryan Day would certainly have his guys ready to go if that were to be the case, and Smith would be extra motivated to knock them off.
