The Ohio State football team just completed its second day of spring practice. Day one was a success, with several players looking solid. As the spring progresses, the Buckeyes are looking to see some development from the starters they had on last year's team.

Julian Sayin is chief among those players. The starting quarterback was a Heisman Finalist in his first season as a starter, but he struggled in the final two games of the year. His inability to use his legs to extend plays was something fans heavily criticized in those last two games.

Ryan Day even mentioned that Sayin needed to work on that in the offseason. Sayin spoke to the media for the first time in the spring after the second practice, and he let everyone know that he heard the criticism. He is making that a priority throughout the spring.

Sayin made it known that he will be working hard on improving his scrambling ability throughout the spring. He made it known that he is improving his footwork in the pocket and his ability to take off and run.

Sayin also recognized that he needs to do better when things start to break down around him.

"Elite quarterbacks are great when situations are bad. Being able to get us out of bad situations and make plays for our offense makes that important. I feel like I could have been better in certain areas and gave us a better chance.

The Ohio State Buckeyes need Sayin to improve his ability to scramble, especially on third down. That's part of the reason why Sayin has added some weight to his frame so he can endure hits better. He understands that taking off with the ball can help his team in certain situations.

Sayin will continue to do whatever it takes to get better this spring.
