If Ohio State could only land 1 recruit from this weekend, they would pick this one

In a weekend loaded with recruiting visits, the Buckeyes would gladly take him over the rest.

The Ohio State football program is hosting its second weekend of official visits starting today. They will have nine recruits on campus. Last weekend, the Buckeyes only had a handful of prospects. There were no commits to come out of that weekend, although one recruit is all but locked up.

This weekend, the Ohio State Buckeyes have a mixed bag of recruits. A third of the recruits are uncommitted, a third of them are committed somewhere else, and a third are already pledged to the Buckeyes. It's an interesting collection of prospects on campus.

Ohio State isn't really in danger of losing any of the guys they have committed who are coming to town. Yet, they are still trying to flip the other guys. Of all of the prospects who are headed to Columbus this weekend, and they could only sign one, it's clear which one they would choose.

Ohio State football would choose Zayden Gamble as the one recruit to sign from this weekend

It's pretty clear that the Buckeyes would pick Zayden Gamble out of any of the recruits coming in this weekend. He is a four-star cornerback who is committed to Notre Dame right now. He committed just a couple of months ago, so he is still freshly off the market.

Gamble plays at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida, which is a place where Ohio State recruits extremely well. Some of their best players over the years have come from that high school, including the Bosa brothers. Adding Gamble to the mix would be nice.

They would pick him for a couple of reasons. First off, he's a really solid player. He's a good player to use in the slot, which is a position of need right now for the Buckeyes. Secondly, Ohio State doesn't have any cornerbacks committed in this year's class. They need to get one soon.

Ohio State will make great impressions on all of the recruits visiting

Whether this is their first time on campus or a commit, the Buckeyes will make sure to make a great impression on everyone who visits. The Buckeyes know what they are doing when it comes to having recruits on campus, and they are going to make it very hard for kids to tell them no.

It wouldn't be surprising to see Ohio State get a commitment or two once the weekend is finished. While it might not come from Gamble, that's okay. All of the prospects visiting Columbus this weekend are solid and would make excellent future Buckeyes.

This month is loaded with recruiting visits, so Ohio State is going to be busy all summer long. The month of June is always critical when it comes to recruiting, so expect the recruiting class to grow by the end of the month. July will be big on that front, as well.

Ohio State is excited to get these kids on campus. The current players who are on the roster will certainly show them a good time, as well.
