It has been a very eventful last few months for former Ohio State football player and coach Mike Vrabel. First, he played in a Super Bowl in his first year coaching the Patriots. He lost to the Seahawks after former Buckeye WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba tore his team up.

Shortly after that, Vrabel had to deal with TreVeyon Henderson's viral post. He was under fire after he posted things on social media following Jaden Ivey's release by the Bulls. As far as Buckeyes go, it wasn't an ideal one for the ones who play for the Patriots.

Now, Vrabel is the one under fire. He was seen with NFL reporter Dianna Russini at a hotel a couple of hours away from where the NFL meetings were being held. Pictures were circulated around, and Russini has since resigned from The Athletic. On Tuesday, Vrabel addressed those photos.

During a press conference before OTAs, Vrabel acknowledged that he had to have "difficult conversations" while explaining those photos to his family.

"I had to have a conversation with the players, which I did yesterday very candidly...with that being said, I had to have some difficult conversations with people that I care about and my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive."

Vrabel mentioned that he had to talk to his family and his organization about what happened, and he was apologetic for being a distraction. It was not exactly what Vrabel was hoping for when the 2026 offseason portion of the schedule started. Yet, he wanted to address it before the NFL Draft.

Moving forward, Vrabel promised to attack each day with vigor. The Patriots won't sneak up on anyone this season, so he knows things will be tougher. It will be more like when he was coaching for the Ohio State Buckeyes in the early 2010s. Those Ohio State teams were always hunted.

Varbel knows that this won't be going away fully anytime soon. Still, he is going to keep the details of what happened private and hopes that he and his family can move forward.
