Elite Ohio State football commit just calmed fans everywhere with USC pushing hard

Ohio State has been on a recruiting heater over the past few weeks, but while Ryan Day and his staff are on the offensive with recruiting, they also have to play defense on some prospects that are being approached by other programs.

One of those players is four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt. The blue-chip prospect from Santa Ana, California has been getting the hard push from USC. But Dixon-Wyatt is holding strong with the Buckeyes.

If Dixon-Wyatt stays, and there's no reason to think he won't, it's a strong haul for the Buckeyes from Mater Dei High School, where Chris Henry Jr. also attends. 

Dixon-Wyatt said the opportunity to continue to play with Henry Jr. played a big part in his final decision.

What's the Buckeyes wide receiver class look like?

Unsurprisingly, the Buckeyes' wide receiver class is loaded. Along with blue chippers Henry Jr. and Dixon-Wyatt, Ohio State is also in line to sign four-star prospect Jerquaden Guilford and three-star Jaeden Ricketts. 

Buckeyes offensive coordinator/wide receiver coach Brian Hartline has long been regarded as one of the top recruiters in the game. There have been rumors about him possibly being a candidate for the head coaching job at Penn State, but that might not be the case.

What's Ohio State's class ranked?

Currently, the Buckeyes' 2026 recruiting class is ranked 6th overall according to 247Sports. That's with Henry Jr. as the highest-ranked prospect. Ohio State has six players ranked in the top 100 nationally and 18 players that have been ranked with four stars or higher.

The class is the third-highest ranked in the Big Ten, behind USC and Oregon. The past four Buckeyes' classes have been ranked in the top five.
