Around this time of year, Rivals releases its new recruiting class rankings, and some recruits were even bumped up in their rankings. Ohio State recruits were treated very well in these new rankings, many of them being ranked at the top of their position group.

Many Ohio State recruits were even given five-star rankings when they were just four-star recruits. One of those recruits was a recent flip for Ohio State, Jay Timmons, who was once a four-star-rated cornerback and is now rated at five stars.

Ohio State worked hard to flip Jay Timmons, who was once committed to Florida State. Head coach Ryan Day was able to get Timmons to Columbus, and now the cornerback is seeing his hard work in high school pay off with his new ranking.

According to Rivals, Timmons is now ranked the No. 12 recruit in the Class of 2026. He is one of the highest-ranked cornerbacks now in his class, which is great for Ohio State. Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will be thrilled to get Timmons' speed into the defense, especially with the Buckeyes potentially losing some guys to the NFL Draft this next year.

Timmons, with these new rankings, is now the No. 1 cornerback in the Class of 2026. This means that the Buckeyes now have the No. 1-ranked player at their position at both cornerback, wide receiver, and defensive lineman.

Both Chris Henry Jr. and Khary Wilder were ranked No. 1 at the wide receiver position and at the defensive lineman position, which is huge for Ohio State.
