Concerning Jeremiah Smith update pops up right before Ohio State vs. Notre Dame

We can only hope Smith is close to 100 percent.

This sure has plenty of Ohio State football fans talking, but not in a good way at all. In the semifinals against Texas, star wideout Jeremiah Smith was held to just one catch for three yards. Since then, people have been fired up at the thought of him posting a strong performance vs. Notre Dame to bounce back.

However, is there now a potential injury for Ryan Day and Co. to be worried about? Ahead of kickoff, On3's Pete Nakos spotted Smith warming up, but he has a wrap around his left hamstring. This is obviously going to be something to keep a close eye on for the rest of the night:

This is head-turning to say the least. The good news, however, is that Smith went through his full pre-game warmup routine and it didn't look like he was bothered one bit. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that there are plenty of nervous OSU supporters after seeing this update from Nakos.

Smith has been an absolute stud during his freshman campaign. His performance against Oregon in the Rose Bowl is still something that people across the planet are talking about. He was a human-highlight reel with his seven receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

He was humbled a bit against the Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl, but that came in a win for Ohio State. He would have been down in the dumps had the Buckeyes lost the game, but that wasn't the case, thankfully.

Now, Smith is motivated to remind everyone of how special he can be with the ball in his hands against the Fighting Irish. The injury scare could end up being a whole lot of nothing, but again, it's still going to be something to monitor from start to finish in the title contest.
