It's clear that someone has been living in the weight room this offseason. That'd be 5-star Ohio State wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., who arrived in Columbus checking in at 6-5, 195 pounds. A stud at Mater Dei High in California, Henry was a beast during his high school days, but everyone knew he'd have to bulk up a bit once he made the jump to the college level.

Mission accomplished there thus far. That's because recently, Henry took to social media to let everyone know he's been on his grind adding size, working overtime in the weight room to make sure he's at his best for when Week 1 gets here. Go ahead and take a look at the photo below. Not being impressed is a tall task:

Chris Henry Jr. is ready to live up to the 5-star hype for Ohio State

Just look at those arms. Henry is looking pretty jacked there, and the smile on his face makes things even better. This tells us that he's enjoying life in Columbus, and that he probably can't wait for the start of the season to get here. We all got a taste of what he can do during spring ball, but soon enough it will be time for him to turn heads during the campaign.

The expectations for the true freshman are going to be quite high too. He signed with the Buckeyes ranked five stars, the No. 2 wide receiver in the country, and No. 14 prospect nationally for the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite. There was also some late drama for him during the Early Signing Period.

As most Ohio State fans remember, Oregon and Dan Lanning came charging late, which delayed Henry from signing right away with the Buckeyes. Once news broke that Brian Hartline was off to USF to take over as head coach, it felt like the door had opened for Henry to play his college ball elsewhere. The Ohio state faithful were worried sick that was going to happen.

Instead, Ryan Day got on the horn, and he was able to remind the elite wideout of why he had committed to the Buckeyes in the first place. It wasn't an easy decision for Henry, but in the end he knew that he wanted to take his talents to The Shoe. And despite him being so highly ranked, no one can question his work ethic.

Jeremiah Smith is of course going to be the leading receiver for the Buckeyes next season, but Henry is going to not only be able to learn from the best WR in the country, but also be a difference-maker for Julian Sayin. Having those two playmakers on the outside is the kind of riches most QBs dare not even dream of.

Luckily for Sayin, he's going to throw the ball deep downfield, and have the confidence that both Smith and Henry will be able to make a play for him. Sure, there will be some growing pains for Henry moving forward, but all signs are pointing to him being a complete and total standout for this team.
