Despite some bad weather, the Ohio State football team was able to complete its entire Spring Game. It was raining, but they were able to get some good work in, regardless. Heading into the day, the Ohio State Buckeyes were dealing with a rash of injuries at multiple positions.

Three running backs were out for this game. Bo Jackson, Isaiah West, and exciting freshman Legend Bey were all out for the game. For that reason, Ohio State didn't push the issue with the running game. Austin Siereveld and Phillip Daniels were also out with injuries after undergoing surgical procedures.

Defensively, the Buckeyes are a much healthier group. Still, they had a few guys out because of some injuries. After the Spring Game, Ryan Day was asked about transfer defensive back Earl Little Jr., who was not out there during the game. Day revealed he also suffered an injury.

Day said that Little Jr. had surgery and will return in the summer from the procedure.

"Similar to the other guys, he had a procedure on his knee, cleaning something up. He'll be back here in a few weeks. This time of year is the right time to get them done so they can get put behind us, as much as we'd like to see him continue to evolve with the injuries. He certainly flashed early, but had a bit of a setback, so we wanted to make sure we took care of that so he had a full summer."

It makes sense to get whatever needs to be done now so that he is fully healthy for the summer and the Fall. Still, it is a bit concerning that the Buckeye have have had so many guys undergo surgery already. It would be nice if the training staff could keep their key guys healthy.

Regardless, Little Jr. should be good to go when the Fall rolls around, which is the most important thing for the Buckeyes at this time of year.
