When recruits visit the Ohio State football program, most of them come away incredibly impressed. The Buckeyes have a lot to offer recruits at almost any position on the field. They have some of the best facilities in the country, and give kids everything they could possibly need to succeed.
That is one of the reasons why five-star edge recruit DJ Jacobs committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. He has been locked in with them since December. He has been very happy with what Larry Johnson and Ryan Day have been able to do for him.
Jacobs made a surprise visit to Columbus this past weekend. He has given no indication that he is going to flip, much to the chagrin of Miami fans. He seemed to have a good time on his visit and posted a clear message to Ohio State football fans about his future.
DJ Jacobs proves he won't be flipping from Ohio State with latest post
Jacobs posted on Instagram following the visit, making sure to let everyone know that Ohio State will become home for him.

Jacobs has made it clear that he is going to be playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes next season. He is such a good player, and he will fight for playing time as a freshman. There is a good chance that he is part of the defensive line rotation as a true freshman, given how freaky his athleticism is.
The Buckeyes feel great about keeping him until Signing Day in December. This post pretty much confirms it. Miami fans claim that they are going to flip him, just as they claimed they were going to flip Jeremiah Smith. That obviously never happened, and this won't either.
Jacobs was hopefully recruiting some of the other prospects on their official visit last weekend. It would be great if Ohio State could land a commitment from five-star receiver Monshun Sales. He is the top receiver in the country, and Ohio State already has a five-star receiver recruit in this class.
Larry Johnson is proving he's anything but washed up
Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson is proving that he is anything but washed up when it comes to recruiting. Last cycle, he landed Khary Wilder, who was a five-star prospect. This cycle, he already has Jacobs in the bag, and it looks like he will be landing five-star DL Marcus Fakatou, too.
Johnson is one of the best to ever do it at the defensive line coach spot. He has been with the Buckeyes for decades, and he's certainly getting up there in age. If he can continue to recruit like this, there's no reason Day should be in a rush to push him into retirement.
Other programs have used Johnson's age to negatively recruit against him for years. That clearly hasn't worked well enough for some of them, as the Buckeyes keep landing elite recruits. Ohio State should increase the number of commits for the 2027 class by at least two or three by the end of the month.
