David Gabriel Georges is probably the number one target on Ryan Day's board for Ohio State in the 2027 recruiting class and there's good reason for that. Georges might be the best running back prospect to come through this decade and in an era where the position may not be valued like it was 20–30 years ago, the five-star recruit is something special.
Georges showed out his freakish athleticism recently by running a reported 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. By comparison, Jeremiyah Love, who is almost 21 and spent three years in a college football strength and speed program, ran a 4.36 at the NFL combine.
He’s not even in a College Strength program yet running 4.38.. @TheFoundation1_ get us right https://t.co/ezbT8wBImn

5-star target David Gabriel-Georges shows off freakish speed
A 4.38 is impressive on its own merits, and then you look at Georges' physical stature. He's 6-foot and over 200 pounds. He's built like a grown man and one can only imagine what he'll look like two years from now when he's packed on enough 15–20 pounds of muscle.
And look at this video. Wow.

There is basically a two-team race for Georges at this point, and it's likely going to be the Buckeyes or Tennessee. Georgia and Ole Miss are also scheduled to receive official visits, but the only team that feels like a true threat right now are the Volunteers.
Georges will take his official visit to Columbus on May 29, and it's there where Day hopes to get his commitment and shut the door on his recruitment. Day clearly believes Georges isn't just an elite running back, but a potential NFL All-Pro type of player that will be the catalyst of future Buckeye teams looking to compete for championships.
The other scheduled visits will be to Tennessee on June 5 and then to Ole Miss (June 12) and finally Georgia on June 19.
But when you think about the great running backs in Ohio State history, and we can go back to Archie Griffin, Eddie George, Maurice Clarrett and Ezekiel Elliott among others, it feels like Georges is the next one in line and being a Buckeye is where he belongs.
