5-star Ohio State recruit has highlight reel catch that will get Buckeye fans smiling

Ohio State football fans are happy to see their team playing once again. It has been several long months since their loss to Miami in the Cotton Bowl. Since that moment, the Buckeyes have been chomping at the bit to get back on the field and get another chance at a national title.

However, they also have an eye on the future. Their 2027 recruiting class is mostly set, so their 2028 recruiting class is starting to take shape. One of their recruits in that class is Jett Harrison, the brother of former receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He showed why he is one of the best recruits in the country.

During a high school game, Harrison showed off why he is currently rated as the fourth-best recruit in the country for the 2028 class. He took a pass 80 yards to the house with ease to help St. Joseph's Prep take a two-score lead late in the first half of its game. In fact, he finished the half with 165 yards and two touchdowns.

His older brother has given him a great endorsement, claiming that he's already better at his age than he was. That's high praise coming from a player who was a Biletnikoff Award winner when he was with the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, he has to wait to give Ohio State some help.

Harrison is currently part of a 2028 class that has four commits in it already. Of those four commits, three of them are five-star commits at this point. The Buckeyes have done a good job of getting talent for that class already, with most of their attention away from the 2027 class.

There is a slight chance that Harrison decides to reclassify and join Ohio State a year early. If he does, he would join Jamier Brown as another five-star receiver recruit in that class. Of course, the Scarlet and Gray already have a ton of talent in that receiver room.

Ohio State will be hosting plenty of 2028 recruits this Fall

Harrison should be getting some new teammates relatively soon. The Buckeyes will be hosting plenty of recruits from the 2028 recruiting class in games this Fall. That starts in Week 1, when they will be hosting four recruits in that class against the Cardinals.

As the season rolls on, Ohio State will have plenty of other highly-rated recruits on the sidelines for games. There's a good chance that they will be adding some commitments in the next few months for that class once these high school kids get on campus for some big games.

As for Ohio State on the field, they feel good about the receivers they have right now. Jeremiah Smith is the best player in the country, and he has some guys around him who provide more depth than they had a year ago. That depth will help them later in the season.

If Harrison can do this once he gets to Columbus, he is going to gobble up a lot of yards.
