Is this what's going to end up helping LSU hang on to 5-star defensive back commit Blaine Bradford? It's hard to say, but you know what, it's definitely not going to hurt the team's chances, that much we know for a fact after the Buckeyes posted their heartstopping Week 1 win.
On Saturday, No. 2 Ohio State football took down No. 1 Texas, with Matt Patricia putting on a clinic on how to slow down Arch Manning and the mighty Texas offense. Following that W, the Buckeyes are rightfully the new No. 1 team in the country and not LSU.
Funny enough that we bring up LSU, as Brian Kelly and the Tigers have been working around the clock in trying to flip Bradford. With the youngster being a Baton Rouge product, it would only make sense that Kelly doesn't want to see him move up north to Columbus. His flip efforts may have gotten way tougher, however, as Bradford sure looked happy watching the OSU defense put on a show:

Ohio State football is still hoping to fend off LSU for 5-star safety Blaine Bradford
For those of you thinking this is a non-story, we respectfully diagree. With flip rumors flying and Kelly going all-in to land Bradford, it was important not only for Day to get the safety on campus, but also to make it a memorable trip for him. It looks like the mission was accomplished there.
The Shoe was PACKED for the matchup between the two powerhouses. With it being such a defensive battle, Bradford was able to get a close-up look at how he'll be able to make a difference playing for Day and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.
You really think that's not going to be something he keeps in the back of his mind as we get closer to the Early Signing Period arriving? Obviously, LSU will now work to get Bradford back on campus for an unofficial visit. Should that happen, Ohio State fans shouldn't hit the panic button.
Bradford lives so close to campus, we don't really blame him if he wants to take another LSU visit for a game day. The hope there would be that the Tigers lose that Saturday and then Bradford remembers how much fun he had watching the reigning champs beat the Longhorns. Bradford, the No. 5 safety in the country, has said he's locked in with the Buckeyes multiple times. Come December, we'll know for sure if he'll be Ohio State-bound or not, but again, Saturday no question had to help with things.
