The Ohio State football program had the most impressive win in Week 1 of the college football season. They used defense to completely suffocate Texas, taking them down 14-7. It was an old-school kind of game that relied on the Buckeyes' defense and taking care of the ball.
Beating the number one team in the country is a great way to start the season. The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to show everyone that they should have been the preseason number-one team. Despite the great victory, one Michigan troll refuses to give them credit.
Desmond Howard of College GameDay refuses to ever give the Buckeyes any credit when they win a big game. He did the same thing with this epic win over the Longhorns. Instead, he disparaged both Ohio State and Texas in the same segment.
Desmond Howard insults the Ohio State football team after fantastic opening win vs. Texas
While talking on the College GameDay set on Monday before the TCU vs. North Carolina game, Howard claims that neither Ohio State nor Texas looked like a top-five team.
Desmond Howard - Neither Texas or Ohio State played like a top 5 team in my opinion

Julian Sayin - He played okay pic.twitter.com/v6reINETaf
"You look at the Ohio State-Texas game, one versus three, neither team played like a top-five team, in my opinion. I thought both teams played okay. Obviously, Arch Manning was a big story coming into the game. He was an even bigger story coming out of the game because of the hype. Julian Sayin, he played okay. Well enough to win."
To say that two top-five teams did not play like that when it was clear that Ohio State showed they might have the best defense in the country is absurd. Howard keeps showing that he is a biased clown who can never give the Buckeyes any credit, even when they deserve it.
The Buckeyes are going for back-to-back national championships, and it's clear that Howard has a problem with the fact that it looks like they are good enough to get it done. Being the defending national champion and then taking down the preseason number-one team has to count for something.
This is nothing new for Buckeye Nation. They are used to seeing this clown get up on national television and spout nonsense about Ohio State. Unfortunately, it's slated to continue because ESPN signed him to an extension. Ohio State fans might just have to forego pregame shows altogether between Howard and the Portnoy nonsense on Big Noon Kickoff.
