The Ohio State football program is working on finishing its 2025 recruiting class in these final two weekends of games. They hosted a lot of recruits on campus for their top-five matchup against Indiana. They will host even more next weekend against TTUN.
While finishing that class is the priority right now, that doesn't mean that's where the coaching staff's sole focus is on the recruiting trail. They are also looking at kinds in the 2026 and 2027 classes. In fact, the Buckeyes landed their first recruit of the 2027 class just hours after beating IU.
That recruit is five-star receiver Jamier Brown. Brown becomes the first member of the 2027 class to commit to the Buckeyes. He is from Wayne High School in Huber Heights, which is the same school Braxton Miller came out of. Brown stands at 5'11 and 170 pounds right now.
How Jamier Brown fits with the Ohio State football team
The Ohio State football team has a stable full of receivers already. Their 2026 class already has Chris Henry Jr., who is one of the best receivers in the country in that class. So how does Brown fit in with a roster that already has so many great receivers on the roster now and in the future?
Brown will fit in great. Brown is someone who can fit that slot receiver role perfectly, similar to what Jaxon Smith-Njigba did. He's a quick guy who can get separation very easily. Brown also has great hands and a wide catch radius. He's the exact kind of guy that Hartline loves to have in his receiver room.
2027 is a long time from now, so Brown will need to be continuously recruited throughout the years. If the Buckeyes are able to hold onto him, he will be a great addition to a receiver room that will likely be loaded once again.
