In recent years, Ohio State and Ryan Day have been able to reel in some truly sensational talent at quarterback. The latest elite talent to add his name to the list is 5-star 2028 QB Christopher Vargas, who is hyped up to make the move to Columbus down the road. Before he does that, the comparisons to Buckeyes great CJ Stroud continue to come in.

For Vargas, it's of course humbling to see such positive things being said about him. At the same time, he doesn't want people to keep bringing up Stroud to hype up his game. Again, the comparisons are flattering, but the future Ohio State QB is quick to remind people that he's going to have to pave his own path to be a stud for this program — and it's a great mindset to have.

"I mean, I have a similar playing style, but I'm Chris Vargas, I'm not CJ Stroud," a humble Vargas said with a smile on his face in the clip below.

Vargas would have every right to be a bit arrogant, but it sure looks like he's going to bring a level head to campus once he gets there, which is a positive sign for Day and his staff. In this interview with reporter Alex Agrella, Vargas went on to add that he has a strong relationship with Day, which of course made an impact in him recently choosing the Buckeyes.

Ranked five stars and the No. 1 QB in the country per the 247Sports Composite, Vargas had 20 offers to his name, but chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Oregon, and many others. With him being 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, he already has fantastic size for a high school junior, and he's only going to get bigger before making the jump to Big Ten ball.

And while nothing is ever certain when it comes to recruiting until a prospect makes things official by signing, it sure seems like Vargas is 100 percent locked in to play for Day once the '28 season rolls around. He made that pretty clear with his message to the Ohio State fanbase.

"I mean, I'm a hard worker and I'm going to bring everything to that program that I can," Vargas said. "Work as hard as I can to be the best player I can be, but also the best person. That's what they're (fans) getting."

Vargas is known for letting his play do the talking, but these recent comments only add to the hype surrounding his future with Ohio State and Day. Everyone is going to have to wait another two years to see him practice with the team, but with him being the top-ranked QB for his class, it sure feels like the wait is going to be worth it for him.
