The Ohio State football program lost over 30 players to the Transfer Portal this offseason. It was by far the most players they have lost since the portal became a thing. The Buckeyes were able to rebound and land a fair number of players to replace the depth that they lost.

That doesn't mean that some of the transfers they lost won't hurt the Buckeyes. They lost some really good players right after the Cotton Bowl. There are three players who will hurt Ryan Day the most when the 2026 season starts.

1. Aaron Scott

Aaron Scott was a former four-star recruit coming out of high school. The Springfield, Ohio, native was never able to stay healthy while he was with Ohio State. That was the main reason why he was never able to find much playing time. It certainly wasn't for a lack of talent.

Without Scott, the Buckeyes are thin at the cornerback spot. Ohio State did add Cam Calhoun to help them out on the outside. They also brought in Earl Little Jr. to help at the nickel spot. Still, Scott is a really good player who was in line to start next season. He will be missed.

2. Mylan Graham

Another player who was slated to fight for a starting spot next season is Mylan Graham. The former five-star receiver recruit out of Indiana was poised for a breakout year. He performed well in the Spring Game, and many fans expected him to play a bigger role this year.

Graham didn't see much of the field, even when Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate were out with injuries. Had he stayed, he could have been a big part of the offense with Tate now headed to the NFL. Instead, he will be playing for Notre Dame next year under Marcus Freeman.

3. Quincy Porter

Another former five-star receiver recruit, Quincy Porter, also decided to leave. Porter could have shot up the depth chart next season. He was a very big talent, but he was hurt for most of his freshman season. He suffered a knee injury that he wasn't able to get over.

Porter will join Graham at Notre Dame next season. He is hoping to stay healthier so he can see the field more with CJ Carr throwing him the football. Ohio State was really hoping to keep him on the roster so that he could grow into a star role in the next couple of years.
